Trudy joined Homes First as Chief Executive on November 1st, 2011, and began leading the organization into its third decade of creating safe, healthy, and affordable rental housing in Thurston County. Trudy came to Homes First from Community Youth Services where she served as Manager of Organizational Development. She has over 30 years experience working in nonprofits around the world. Trudy volunteers her time with many mission-driven organizations that include being a member of the Board for the Washington State Employee’s Credit Union and Washington Nonprofits. Courtney most recently worked at the WORK SOURCE center in Thurston County. She is also an adjunct professor with Centralia College teaching students in the BASM program “Foundations of Management 300” which prepares our future leaders by providing resources guiding them when exiting school.
In Courtney’s own words, “I care about people and their overall quality of life. To me, having a home that is affordable dramatically changes the lives in our community. When people have a quality of life it leads to a restoration of hope. Hope leads to an enhanced energy, and in my opinion, that energy goes back to our community.”
Courtney is also a graduate of the Masters in Public Administration Program from the Evergreen State College
Amy joined Homes First in 2009 to help support daily office operations. Since that time, she has gone from working 20 hours a week to being a full time Office Manager. Amy also has a background in biology and studying nature. You will often see Amy on her bike commuting to work.
