Trudy Soucoup joined Homes First! as Executive Director on November 1st, 2011, and began leading the organization into its third decade of creating affordable and decent rental housing in Thurston County.

Trudy came to Homes First! from Community Youth Services, where she served as Manager of Organizational Development. Her strengths are as an innovative systems thinker, exuberant team leader and keen-eyed policy wonk!  She is also advocates locally for homes and homelessness having served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, and currently on the HOME Consortium Citizens Advisory Committee.

Trudy’s career in organization and fund development includes stints at Harlequin Productions in Olympia and Wolf Haven International in Tenino, WA.  A 2010, alum of Chapman University, she graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership. She has also served on the Board of Directors for POSSCA, and is currently the Marketing Chair for the South Sound Partners for Philanthropy and on the Policy Committee for Washington Nonprofits. Trudy is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Thurston County.

Mike joined Homes First!  in December 2012, with 30 years of experience in real estate management, analysis, investment, and ownership.

As former C.O.O. for American Properties Inc. in Tampa, FL, he managed real estate investment trust and brought in investors into the housing market, which included affordable housing.  As President of Marketex Inc, a management consultation company, he is specializes in business start-ups, grant writing, and supply and distribution chain analysis.  Mike was also a key employee at the YMCA in Olympia for nine years, during which he served as the Youth & Teen and Adult and Family programs and upon leaving was the Director at Briggs YMCA.

Mike has been active in the community through Board service at Thurston County Partners for Children, Youth and Families, Thurston County Police Athletic League, and Visions – Youth Service agency.  Mike has also been a member of the Thurston County Health Consortium.  He holds a B.A. Degree in Business Management.
